In a failed attempt to escape the heat of Phnom Penh (it was equally hot in Ho Chi Minh City) we treated ourselves to a mini-break in Vietnam. A perfect opportunity to dust off all those Vietnam war film quotes from 1980s classics! There are so many things to do in Vietnam, but as our time was limited, here are our highlights:
1. Cu Chi tunnels
A tunnel system outside of Saigon, which was used by the Vietcon during the war to hide from the Amercian troops:
Take cover…Entrance, made for small Vietnamese, not so great for well-fed tourists…
Bum too fat?
Going…….
…going…
…gone!
Tunnel rat
Commandante Che Tamara
aka ‘Barn-door’ (hands off the magazine. ffs.)
As opposed to ‘One shot, one kill’
Ouch
2. Mekong Delta
Tourist – just needs a big map…
3. Ho Chi Minh City?………
…or Saigon, for the traditionalists.
Socialist Republic of Vietnam?
Whacky Races (khe, he, he, he, he)
So these were our favourite things to do in Vietnam with limited time? What are your favourite spots in Vietnam?
Tammy & Chris are a couple hailing from Germany and England, meaning between them they are efficient and polite, but unable to talk about football. Find out why they stopped pushing pens around the British civil service to travel the world on their blog.

Nice photos. Hope you will come back my country and visit its north. It is worth trying.

Thank very much. Would love to visit the north of Vietnam one day.
Awesome pics! I I myself love Bia Hoi the best. It is a great way to be cool in summer time!
