Visit wineries

If you would like to find out a little more about the process of how grapes are grown, harvested and finally turned into wine, then you can visit some of the fantastic nearby wineries. The Wine Me Down’s Luxury Wine Tasting Tour for example tours four different vineyards in the area and you get a three-course lunch that, of course, includes suitable wines. If you have a sweet tooth, then you could alternatively go on the Chocolate Passion Tour. During this half-day tour, you will taste various sorts of wines and chocolate. Personally, I think that this is a winning combination you can’t beat.

If you want to do something special with your girlfriends or are looking for something to do for a bachelorette party then you could even go on a customized limousine wine tour with North Carolina Wine Tours. They even have pink limousines.

Live music

Many wineries don’t just offer wine tours but they also have live music, concerts, or other events you could visit. Whether it is jazz music at Cypress Bend Vineyards, live music at Weathervane Winery, or summer concerts at Shelton Vineyard, you will be sure to be entertained over a glass of delicious wine.

Wining and Dining

If you don’t have the time to visit one of Charlotte’s wineries, then you can also just visit one of Charlotte’s restaurants or wine rooms. The  Bonterra Dining & Wine Roomfor example, boasts more than 200 different selections of wine. In the The Wooden Vine’s you can pair your wine with matching food made with local ingredients. Alternatively, if you would really like to learn something about wine then you can head to Corkbuzz. This is more than just a wine bar; it is actually a place where you can learn and talk about wine with some local experts. To try wine that has been naturally produced, you could try the Foxcroft Wine Company, where you can also enjoy some good food to go with your fermented grape juice.  Or, if you like tapas, then you could try The Mandrake, which is a tapas and wine restaurant, aiming to let you experience how food and wine go together.

There are also plenty of wine-related festivals and events held in Charlotte each year. The Charlotte Wine & Food Weekend for example, runs for five days with more than 30 events. Wine makers and chefs from all over the world come to this festival to showcase their foods and various wines for the lucky visitors. All proceeds of the event go to a local children’s charity.

As you can see, there is plenty to keep your taste buds entertained in Charlotte so why not book yourself into one of the many hotels in Charlotte, sit back, and relax over a glass of well-deserved wine?
