Whenever I pack my bags for travelling I always face the same dilemma: do I pack stylish attire or practical clothing? In an ideal world I’d take clothes with me that tick both boxes, i.e. clothes that dry quickly and don’t crease, but at the same time look elegant enough for a night out or for work. Thankfully I think I’ve found the perfect item of travel clothing that meets both sets of needs – the Icebreaker Villa Dress. And the even better news is that we are able to give away one such beautiful dress to a lucky reader, courtesy of Icebreaker.

icebreaker dress review 3 ways 2Those of you who follow my blog may know that I am somewhat obsessed with the Icebreaker brand. In my opinion their clothes are perfect for travelling and hiking because you can wear them for days in a row and they won’t smell. I have tested this before by going to a no-frills gym in the blistering Cambodian heat and also during my Everest Base Camp trek.  I now own six Icebreakers tops and one pair of leggings so as you can see I am a big fan of their clothes so when I got the chance to review one of their dresses I got ever so slightly excited. Over the past two months I have tested the Icebreaker Villa dress in South America to the max and as expected, I am in love with this dress too. 🙂

I have worn the Icebreaker Villa dress in a range of climatic zones and because of the merino wool material I found the dress to be great for really hot climates as it wicks the moisture away, but it is also nice and warm in colder climates when combined with tights and a cardigan. The dress is so versatile that I have worn it in the desert, in cold high-altitude Andean cities, at the beach, for going out at night, and for my office-based voluntary placement. It looks good with flip flops, ballerinas, and even my clunky trekking sandals.

icebreaker dress review 3 waysThe Icebreaker dress packs down to next-to-nothing and doesn’t need ironing either. In my opinion it is therefore ideal for travelling. It also comes in all kinds of different colours including black, blue, and green. It retails at £100 (US$166), which may sound pricey to some but believe me it is worth every penny as it is soooo versatile. The material is such high quality that it will make you happy for a very long time.

I love this dress, but before to buy one, I want to be sure of the size I have to choose.
Can you tell me which size you are wearing to give to me an idea?
    (sorry for my english).
    Thank you 🙂

Glad you like it. I am wearing size S, but it is a bit big for me on the top actually, so if you have a smaller chest like me maybe XS might be better.
