I loath packing and living out of a messy backpack, which I think has to do with the fact that I am German and therefore genetically predisposed towards order. I remember painfully the days when I would just throw everything in my backpack and hope for the best. Of course I never found anything and the one thing I needed was always at the bottom of my pack. Then I discovered packing cubes and it changed my life. Bit dramatic you say? Well, hear me out. For my latest trip to Ghana I basically had to pack for two years as that’s how long I’m on assignment for. You can imagine how I dreaded the chaos that involved squeezing my entire wardrobe and more into only two pieces of hold luggage. Luckily the packing angels in form of We travel far came to the rescue and provided me with some of their Flight 001 packing bags.
I have Flight 001 packing bags for shoes, underwear and beachwear. They all come in zipped bags which can be used to organize things neatly and logically. So you basically get a packing bag and zip-locked bag.
Packing cube for underwear
The weekend underwear packing cube is perfect to store your delicates in. No more feeling embarrassed at customs when you have to open your suitcase and your undies and bras are spread all over the place. I managed to fit in all of the underwear I took to Ghana which is 10 pairs of knickers, five pairs of socks, two tights, five pairs of silk socks, and four bras. If you don’t want to use the packing cube for underwear, I also managed to pack one pair of trousers, one top, two pairs of socks, two pairs of knickers, and one bra in it, so perfect for a weekend getaway too.
Shoe bags
As I have moved to Ghana for development work I had to take some smart office shoes with me, as well as some sturdy trekking sandals for any field trips I may undertake. The shoe zipper bag came with two bags inside and at first I thought that they might be a bit tight, but both my high heels and my sturdy trekking sandals fit perfectly into the bags. I love how the bags protect my shoes, but also protect my other clothes from getting dirty from the shoes.
Beachwear bag
As I am living by the beach in Ghana and make regular visits to my local swimming pool (yes, some of us have it tough), I was pleased to have found the Flight 001 beachwear bag. I hate nothing more than sand all over my clothes and apartment. To this day I still find sand in either my pockets or backpack from the time I went sand boarding in Peru. This bag will keep any dirty sand out of your luggage. The material the bags are made off is very robust and water resistant. After a pool or beach visit I can put my bikini in the small ziplock bag, and then put that along with my book, towel, sunglasses etc. in the bigger bag which can be fully closed through a cord (safer for pickpocketing). That way, nothing gets wet. If I had one imperfection to criticize (and if you know my reviews, you’ll know there is always at least one!), then it is that although the bigger beach bag can just about be worn over the shoulders, the straps are a bit tight and are therefore really made to carry by hand. But that’s a tiny, tiny thing, and overall I am super happy with the bag. These bags are also really easy to clean too, meaning you can also easily remove any sand or dirt again once you are back in your hotel. So the perfect beach or pool companion in my opinion.
So all in all, the Flight 001 packing bags get a big thumbs up from me, and as such I am excited to announce that all Tammy & Chris on the move readers will be able to get a 10% discount with We Travel Far. Just use the special discount code ‘TammyOnTheMove10%’ when you make your next purchase and hey presto, you’ve saved 10% which you can then use on cocktails by the beach.
Disclaimer: Thank you to We Travel Far for providing me with complimentary bags for this review. As always all opinions remain my own and I would never recommend any products that I am not 100% happy with.
It looks like this is a very well-designed system, but mine would not end up so organized. I guess I live for the mish-mash.

You could always put your swimwear in your shoe bags and your shoes in the beach bag to get some mish-mash in your suitcase. 😉
These look fantastic! They even tell you what they have in them! Genius! 🙂

They are fool-proof Ari! I love them.
Ooh, I’ve seen a lot of other travel bloggers use these recently! Might give them a go. I’m off to Borneo and Bali next, so they could come in useful 🙂

They are so handy, wherever you go really. Let me know what you think if you get them.
I’ve looked at these online before, but not tried them myself. Seems like a great idea and I could use all of the organizational help I can get lol.
I know what you mean. You just can’t keep order in a backpack, but with these bags you can.
I’m currently in the market for new bags, so this is great! The discount will definitely help – I’ll have to keep these bags in mind as an option.

If you need some anyway you definitely give them a try and let me know what you think.
Love bags like these – I have had some of mine since I started traveling full time 3 years ago but these have great features – shall check them out

I like the fact that you get an extra zipper bag with them. I use them for all of my chargers for example.
I’m the same as you, my pack HAS to be orderly, otherwise I go crazy looking for things. Especially on long trips. I’ve always used packing cubes. These look pretty neat and different! I’ll have to check them out.
I am glad I am not the only order-obsessed person in the world Bailey! 🙂
that’s a cool way to stay organized my suitcases usually end up a mess by the end of my trip
I know what you mean. The longer you travel the messier my backpack gets, no matter how hard I try.
I am so glad I found this post! It’s what I didn’t know I always wanted!!! I am busy packing for our next trip and I am very Type A about it. This should help speed things up as I won’t have to make my own labels 🙂
